ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Michele Pollard Patrick has been teaching tea classes to young ladies for ten years. She finds the tea party experience is a wonderful and proven vehicle for introducing the social graces at an early age. Since no primer or simple reference aimed at children presently exists, she decided to share her knowledge through Children's Specialteas: A Children's Introduction to Tea. In addition she imparts the value of sipping tea as taking the time to connect with a special person...a tradition she learned from her own mom at the kitchen table after school.

A native of New Jersey, Ms. Patrick has resided in the Washington DC area for twenty years. She is the founder and director of Children's Specialteas, a program designed to promote the social graces to young children. She is also self-employed as a protocol consultant and corporate trainer teaching adults about proper social behavior. Her credentials include certification from Notre Dame, the Protocol School of Washington, and the Capital Speakers Program.

Recently remarried after having been widowed, Michele Pollard Patrick lives with her husband and two children in Chevy Chase, Maryland. She is deeply involved with her community, particularly the schools in her area.
