Cobras and Their Kin

Michael W. Smith wrote Cobras and Their Kin, a quick and easy reference guide on snakes of all kinds, because he felt there was a lack of books on the subject. This book describes the vast differences between species and gives pertinent information on a dozen or so different kinds.

Habitat, breeding, length and feeding, habits, and lifespan for each are listed. Both their common names and Latin names are provided. There are also technical terms used for breeding as the reader is informed whether the snake is oviparous or viviparous as well as the typical number of offspring. The maps of their specific locations included make this book a viable source of information.

A native of Rossford, Ohio, Michael W. Smith is married to Pamela, and he has six children. He enjoys collecting plants and animals for pictures. He is a member of the Toledo Herpetological Society.
