by Ovella Blackmon Poetry of My Life is Ovella Blackmons heartfelt testimony that Jesus is real. Ovella believes that by making the conscious decision to adhere to faith, an individuals personal transformation can begin. As a young child, Ovella grew up with alcoholic parents and suffered the consequences of a violent and broken home. As a result, Ovella became an alcoholic and addict but was delivered by Jesus Christ. Through perseverance, Ovella has found the strength to overcome the demons of her past as she pours herself into Gods arms. Her collection of poetry speaks of unhindered will and encourages others to surrender themselves fully to Gods plan. ABOUT THE AUTHOR Ovella Blackmon is a native of Youngstown, Ohio. She was the co-director of the Recovery Ministry of New Bethel Baptist Church and also a member of the Executive Board at New Bethel Baptist Church from 2004 to 2006. Ovella has one daughter, Tausha Renee Blackmon. She enjoys music, spending time with her grandchildren, cooking, and attending Sunday school and church. (2008, paperback, 36 pages)
