Schizophrenia and Bipolar Disorder, Mental Illness: A Parents Handbook into the First-72 Hours of Treatment and Evaluation of the 51/50 Adult/Minor Child
by Rebecca Ann Velasquez

Based on the authors personal experiences caring for her own adult schizophrenic and bipolar son and navigating the maze of the mental health system, Schizophrenia and Bipolar Disorder, Mental Illness: A Parents Handbook into the First-72 Hours of Treatment and Evaluation of the 51/50 Adult/Minor Child is written as a guide and reference point for parents and caregivers of diagnosed children of any age. This book specifically tackles the involuntary/voluntary 51/50 process to help parents retain legal rights over their son or daughters care.

Use Schizophrenia and Bipolar Disorder during the seventy-two-hour treatment and evaluation of your adult/minor child, as these are the most critical hours and the most dangerous for you and your family. Hopefully, this handbook will help you through the immense emotional and legal challenges of the 51/50, giving you back the power to care for your child.

About the Author:

Rebecca Ann Velasquez is a mother, grandmother, and medical assistant who, since her son Rebsons bipolar-schizophrenia diagnosis in 2009, has become his sole caregiver. She enjoys gardening and knitting, and has spent time learning how to build and remodel home interiors. Since Rebsons homecoming, she has used her building skills to construct safety measures as safe as any medical facility inside her home and has devoted her time to his wellbeing and safety, fighting to keep him out of the mental health system.
